Department of English
Department of English is the biggest department in the college as the subject English is the compulsory subject in all streams. Obviously, the first year strength of the college is the first year students’ strength of English. Since establishment of the college in the year 1965, English had been part and parcel of the college. The college is committed to endeavor for overall development of the neighboring brethren. Realizing importance of the English literature in curriculum, the subject English Literature was introduced in the year 1995. The department is headed by HoD – Dr. R. K. Dipte. The Permanent faculty is – 1. Dr. R. K. Dipte, Asstt. Prof. and HoD, 2. Dr. G. G. Baghmar, Asstt Prof. and 3. Prof. A. M. Khandawe and the Contributory (CHB) faculty is 1. Ms. V. G. Fuley 2. Shri. M. H. Bagade and Ms. A. P. Sharma.

Department of Marathi
गोंदिया शिक्षण संस्थेची स्थापना 1957 साली झाली असून महाराष्ट्रातील एक अग्रगण्य, नामांकित व मोठी शिक्षण संस्था म्हणून ती ओळखली जाते. या संस्थेचे संस्थापक मा. मनोहरभाई पटेल यांच्या कल्पक व व्यापक दृश्टिकोनातून या संस्थेचा सर्वांगीण विकास साकारला आहे. त्यांच्या उदात्त ध्येयाची व कार्याची प्रेरणा या शिक्षण संस्थेला आहे.
सेठ नरसिंगदास मोर कला, वाणिज्य व श्रीमती गोदावरी देवी सराफ विज्ञान महाविद्यालय हे गोंदिया शिक्षण संस्थेद्वारे चालविले जाते. महाविद्यालयाची स्थापना ही इ. स. 1965 साली झाली असून महाविद्यालयाच्या स्थापनेसोबतच मराठी विभागाचीही मुहुर्तमेढ रोवली गेली. मराठी हा विषय सुरूवातीच्या काळात केवळ भाषा म्हणून शिकवला जाई. परंतु कालांतराने "मराठी वाङ्मय" या स्वरूपात सुद्धा तो शिकला जाऊ लागला. गेल्या अनेक वर्षांपासूनची एक प्रदीर्घ आणि समृद्ध परंपरा या विभागाला लाभलेली आहे.

बलस्थान (Strength)
- मराठी ही भाषा महाराश्ट्रातील प्रादेशिक भाषा व राज्य भाषा असल्यामुळे तिची व्यावहारिकता अधिक आहे. म्हणून मराठी माध्यम व मराठी वाङ्मय या विशयाकडे विद्यार्थ्यांचा कल असतो.
- मराठी भाषा आणि वाङ्मयाचा अभ्यास विविध स्पर्धा परीक्षांमध्ये उपयोगी पडतो.
- महाविद्यालयात मराठी विभागातील निरनिराळया उपक्रमांतून विद्यार्थ्यांची सृजनशिलता व व्यावहारिक कौशल्य यांचा विकास होतो.

Department of Hindi
हिंदी विभाग की स्थापना 1965 से हुई है। यह एक स्वतंत्र विभाग है जिसके द्वारा बी.ए., बी.कॉम. और बी.एस.सी. अनिवार्य हिंदी विषय को पढ़ाया जाता है। इस विभाग के अंतर्गत पूर्णकालीन एक पद है। इस पद पर वर्तमान स्थिती में 27.08.2012 से लेकर आज तक प्रा. लक्ष्मण किसनराव पेटकुले हिंदी विभागाध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्य कर रहे हैं। हिंदी भाषा के विकास के लिए तथा छात्रों में हिंदी भाषा के प्रति रूची बढ़े इसिलिए हिंदी विभाग की और से विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करते है।

चुनौतियाँ Challenges
- हिंदी पर बढ़ता अंग्रेजी भाषा का प्रभाव ।
- भाषावाद एवं प्रांतवाद के कारण राष्ट्रीय एकात्मता में बाधा ।
- रोजगाराभिमुख शिक्षा का अभाव ।
- पूँजिवादी शिक्षा प्रणाली का बढ़ता प्रभाव ।
- तंत्रज्ञान और मनोरंजन के बढ़ते साधनों के कारण युवकों द्वारा साहित्य की ओर दुर्लक्ष ।
- मोबाईल के बढ़ते प्रभाव के कारण युवकों में किताबें पढ़ने की ओर दुर्लक्ष ।
- महाविद्यालय में स्नातकोत्तर हिंदी विभाग का गठन करना ।
- भाषा विज्ञान के विकास हेतु विभिन्न विषयों पर राष्ट्रीय, अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी एवं कार्यशालाओं का आयोजन करना ।
- भाषा उच्चारण, भाषा लेखन एवं भाषा का प्रयोग गलत न हो इसलिए महाविद्यालय में भाषा संकुल का निर्माण करना ।
- दृष्य-श्राव्य (एल.सी.डी.) माध्यमों द्वारा अध्यापन और नाटकों का दृष्य-श्राव्य प्रसारण करना ।
- विविध स्पर्धात्मक (नेट/सेट) परिक्षाओं का छात्रों को प्रशिक्षण देना ।
- हिंदी के माध्यम से छात्रों को रोजगार प्राप्त करने हेतु पत्रकारिता, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मिड़ीया, सृजनात्मक लेखन आदि का प्रशिक्षण देना ।
Department of Economics
S. N. Mor Arts, Commerce & Smt. G. D. Saraf Science College was established in 1965 and same is the year of the establishment of the department of Economics. The Post Graduate course in the subject was added in the year 1995-96. The department consists of two full time faculty members and an assistant on daily wages basis. Presently Dr. Jayantkumar M. Maskey is the HOD of the Department.
The department has a dedicated and committed staff, engaged in imparting quality education to the students. The department has grown in leaps and bounds in term of developing good academic culture.

She boosted the moral of the girl’s students and told them to inculcate the spirit to fight back sexual harassment.
- The development of Home-Economics organized a workshop on utility of bag & bags making on 27th September 2017.
- Mrs. Rupali Gabhane-Malewar the trainer imparted training to the student’s on the art of making different kinds of bags & bags.
- The department of Home-Economics on 29th September 2017 organized ‘Anand Mela’ to promote a sense of self employment among the students. The students set stalls sold food items made by them & earned money.
- Workshop on preparing washing powder, shampoo, hand wash, liquid soap and liquid cleaner organized on 26th February 2018. The trainer Prof. Mrs. Kannane imparted training in making washing powder shampoo, hand wash, liquid shop.
- The department of Home-Economics on 17th March 2018 organized ‘Anand Mela’ on college premises. In which the student’s set up stalls and sold food stuffs like Bhel, Idli Sambhar, Usal, Dahi Wada, Panipuri, Gulab Jamun, Upma, Poha Sevai, Sev Chakli, Papad Chips, etc. made by them.

She throws light on the contribution of women cell, another speaker, guided on the importance of women’s day. Dr. Lata Agale presided over the function. Prof S. Rathod conducted the programme. Dr. B. D. Katekhaye, Convener, proposed the vote of thanks. Teachers and students in large number were present in the programme.
- A programme on ‘Medicine Free Life’ was organized on 12th February 2019 at 12:00 pm in conference hall. Dr. Ujwane, District Health Officer, Bhandara was the Chief Speaker of the programme, who emphasized on the benefits of salad, fruits on our body. Dr. Ranjit Katakwar, Rtd. D.H.O., Bhandara, throws light on the bad effects of acidic water and food on our body and proved it through practical demonstration.Prof S. Rathod conducted the programme. Dr. B. D. Department of Political Science
S. N. Mor Arts, Commerce & Smt. G. D. Saraf Science College was established in 1965 and same is the year of the establishment of the department of Political Science. The Post Graduate course in the subject was added in the year 1995-96. The department consists of two full time faculty members and an assistant on daily wages basis. Presently Dr. Rajendra O. Belokaris the HOD of the Department.

Department of Sociology
Department of Sociology is established in 1995 on no grant basis. Our institutions Gondia Education Society has fulfill the permanent post for the subject Sociology in September, 1996. Meanwhile in 2001 the subject of Sociology has come on 100 percent grant basis. Department of sociology has a very good strength of students every year and also give a good results. Every year results of department of sociology is higher than the university result in the subject sociology. Many former students of department of sociology have got a well jobs, and higher education in the field of sociology. One former student of our department cleared NET / SET exam. and one student got Ph. D. in sociology. Departments head Dr. Rahul Bhagat has a Ph. D. supervisor and two students awarded Ph. D. in sociology under his guidance by R. T. M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. Dr. Rahul Bhagat also nominated on Ph. D. panel of examiners in various university, like- Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marthwada University, Aurangabad, Swami Ramanand Marathwada University, Nanded. Dr. Bhagat evaluated more than 10 Ph. D. thesis of this university. Dr. Bhagat also nominated as board of member of sociology in R. T. M. Nagpur University, Nagpur, Kavayatri Bahinabai Choudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Maharashtra State Board of HSC etc.
Department of Sociology run a National level Research Journal. Department of sociology started and edited National Research Journal on 'Social Issues and Problems' with ISSN 2278-3199 from June, 2012 and continue published it. This Journal published by Department of Sociology, S. N. Mor College, Tumsar. Total 14 Issues are published of this Journal; we give a chance to write and publish the research papers and articles to approximately 400 scholars. Department of Sociology also start and conducted 'Six Months Certificate Course in Research Methodology' for the Ph. D. research scholars. (From June 2015 to April 2017 Four Bathes) Approximately 200 scholars completed this course. This course is affiliated to Department of Continue Adult Education and Extension, R. T. M. Nagpur University, Nagpur.
Department of sociology has organized two conferences; one is state level and second is National level. In the year 2006 department of sociology has organized state level conference of ‘Marathi Samajshastra Parishad’ on dated 5th and 6th January, 2006. Department of sociology has organized UGC Sponsored Multidisciplinary National Level conference on the topic ‘Tribal Development Schemes and Tribal Development: Perspective and Issues’ on dated 29th January, 2013. Department head Dr. Rahul Bhagat completed one Minor Research Project: - 'A Sociological Study of Social and Economic Problems of Displaced People of Gosikhurd Dam in Bhandara District' U. G. C. Sponsored Minor Research Project, Amount sanction - 60,000/- (Period 16 March 2011 to 16 March 2013, File No. 23-2335/10 (WRO) dated 16 March 2011.)
