Zoology Department : Survey Work : 2023

To inculcate the scientific temper and awareness about the surrounding and society, several project works had been allotted to 64 students of B. Sc. semester V in the group of five student each in month of October 2023. The topics of survey as an outreach activity were as follows:

Zoology Department : Vield Visit : 2023

The field visit is part of study of B. Sc. Semester V students conducted on 5th Oct., 2023 by Zoology Department, S. N. Mor College, Tumsar under supervision of Dr. A. A. Salwe, Dr. P. P. Thakur and Mr. Robert Bhowate. Total 56 students participated in field visit. For field visit we chosen rice fields in Hasara village near to Tumsar town. We gathered in college at 9.00 am. Students came with insect collecting net and insect collecting bottle. We reached to the rice field at 9.30 am. Dr. A. A. Salwe explained different stages of rice plant, pest of rice, predators (natural enemies) found in rice fields. She shown different species of pest like yellow stem borers, White backed planthopper, Brown planthopper, rice hispa, Grasshopper and rice leafroller etc. found in rice field and explained damage caused by these species; also shown different species of predators (natural enemies) like Asopinae bugs, Carbides beetles, dragon fly, damsel fly and spiders etc.

Physics experiments: Vernier Caliper, Screw Gauge and Travelling Microscope : 06.10.2023

Dr. Vijay V. Warhate, Head, Department of Physics of S. N. Mor Arts and Commerce and Smt. G. D. Saraf Science College, Tumsar along with their team, had conducted an Outreach Activity by visiting our school and giving talks and discussion with experiential learning on topic “Physics experiments: Vernier Caliper, Screw Gauge and Travelling Microscope”, to promote Physics awareness among students.

Socio-Economic Survey of Villages by Sociology Students : 20.03.2023 to 16.04.2023

In the session 2022-23 B. A. Part 3, Semester 6, Sociology students as a part of action research conducted a social and economic survey of various villages in the college premises from 20th March 2023 to 16th April 2023. In this survey, 35 students collected information about the social, cultural, economic, political and demographic aspects of the villages in the area. Through this action research, the students got in-depth knowledge about field research, social survey etc. Some pictures of the presented social survey.

Report (MSFDA) – 25.8.2022 to 27.8.2022

Our full time faculty member, Asst. Prof. Amol Khandwe attended a three day Faculty In- Service Program on Inclusive Education held by Maharashtra State Faculty Development Academy (MSFDA), Pune in association with Xavier’s Resource Centre for Visually Challenged (XRCVC), St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai during 25th August to 27th August 2022 at MSFDA Campus, Pune.

In the inauguration function, Dr Ajiet Telave, Coordinator, MSFDA and Dr Anju Uppal, Joint Director, MSFDA were present. They shared the idea behind setting up MSFDA and organizing this three day program. Dr Sam Taraporwalah, Director XRCVC also joined the function online and deliberated on the need of inclusive education for person with disabilities.

Socio-Economic Survey Report of Geography Department : 2021-22

The students of B. A. III, 6th Semester were taken to the village “Hasara” for socio-economic survey on 9/04/2022. Total 27 students participated in this survey. The permission and guidance of the principal, Dr. C. B. Masram was sought on the occasion.

The head (Sarpanch) of the village Smt. Ratnakala Bhagat also guided and permitted this survey. The students made the survey through interview of the villagers and a questionnaire was made for the survey.Students also visited schools and Grampanchayat of the village. Survey was done with sampling method. Dr. (Ku.) Aruna S. Bawankar, Head, Department of Geography, took initiative and monitored it.

Blood Donation Camp at S. N. Mor College Tumsar : 2020-21

In the view of ongoing pandemic (COVID-19) and need of the blood in the country, A Blood Donation Camp was organized by the NCC, in association with NSS, department of Sports of the college on 22/12/2020.

The function was presided over by Principal Dr. C. B. Masram, speaking on occasion he threw the light on the importance of blood donation and appealed all the students to donate generously.

Dr. Mrs, Malewar who headed of the Blood Bank Team from General Government Hospital, Bhandara also spoke on the importance of the blood donation and appreciated the for regularly organizing the blood donation camp. A total number of 32 volunteers belonging to different category of donors participated in the event and donated a volume of 14.400CC of blood on the occasion.

The medical team from General Government Hospital Bhandara offered technical assistant. Lt. Prof. Arun B. Chavhan (NCC Officer), Dr. Santosh Chaudhary, Prof. Laxam Petkule, Dr. Sanjay Agashe, JUO. Nikhilesh Tembhare, SGT. Alfiya Sheikh, Simran Pathak, Vidya Rathod, Abhisekh Bopche, Jitendra Rahangdale NSS Volunteers VidhiVerma, Nikita Verma, and other volunteers from sports department strove hard success of programme.



Tree Plantations : 2020-21

NCC and NSS unit of S. N. Mor College Tumsar organized a Tree Plantations programme on the occasion of Independence Day on 15 Aug 2020 in the college premise. Principal Dr. C. B. Masram and Col. Vikram Chander, Commanding Officer 4 Mah Bn NCC Nagpur graced the programme. 30 cadets were present in the event and as many as 20 saplings were planted. JUO. Nikhilesh Tembhare and SGT. Miss. Alfiya sheikh, Abhishek Bopche, Jitendra Rahangdale strove hard of success the programme.



NCC Cadets’ Cycle Expedition : 2020-21

The NCC Cadets of S. N. Mor Arts, Commerce and Smt. G. D. Saraf Science College, Tumsar took out a cycle expedition to Ambagarth, a place famous for Fort of Gond King of on 23th January 2020.

Aim of the expedition was to create a sense of adventure among the cadets and to spread a sense of social awareness among the villages.

The cadets carried placards with messages regarding importance of education, awareness about AIDS, benefits of water conservation, tree-plantation, etc. The expedition was arranged under the direction of Col. Vikram Chandra, Commanding Officer, 4 Maharashtra Battalion NCC, Nagpur. It was supervised by Dr. C. B. Masram, Principal and Prof. Arun B. Chavhan, in charge NCC.

SUO Miss. Priyanka Sapate, JUO. Anshul Ladse and others cadets strove for the success of expedition.

Total 46 Cadets took part in the expedition



International Yoga Day : 2020-21

“One Day Yoga Seminar on occasion of International Yoga Day 2021” on June 21, 2021 Under Community Awareness & Yoga Education Programme organized by Department of Physical Education S. N. Mor Arts, Commerce & Smt. G. D. Saraf Science College, Tumsar & Department of Physical Education Jawaharlal Nehru arts Commerce and Science College, Wadi Nagpur - 440023

The Programme Began at Online Mode at 9am.Under the guidance of Shri. Sanjayji Khonde Instructur & Yoga Therapist Organising Committee Dr. Sanjay Agashe & Dr. Santosh Chaudhary Director of Physical Education, Dr. Sarang Khadse Director of Physical Education J. N. College Wadi ,Nagpur all staff members performed yoga ,asana and pranayam. Shri.Sanjayji Khonde Instructur & Yoga Therapist gave demonstrations of suryanamaskar, which were followed by the Staff members N.S.S & N.C.C. Cadets.

Dr. C. B. Masram , Principal congratulated all staff members Sports & N.C.C. cadets on the occasion “International Yoga Day” for participating and performing various postures with enthusiasm. He stressed importance of the yogic tradition and wisdom of the Rishis and appealed to all to continue yoga for being fit and healthy.

जागतिक पर्यावरण दिवस : 2020-21

एस. एन. मोर महाविद्यालय येथे आज दिनांक ०५ जून २०२१ रोजी महाविद्यालयातील एन.एस.एस. विभाग, पर्यावरणशास्त्र विभाग आणि भूगोल विभाग यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने गुगल मीट वर ऑनलाईन पद्धतीने जागतिक पर्यावरण दिवस साजरा करण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाला अध्यक्ष म्हणून महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. सी. बी. मसराम उपस्थित होते तर प्रमुख मार्गदर्शक म्हणून समाजशास्त्र विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. राहुल भगत व भूगोल विषयाच्या विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. अरुणा बावनकर यांचे मोलाचे मार्गदर्शन विद्यार्थ्यांना लाभले.

या कार्यक्रमाची प्रस्तावना एन.एस.एस. प्रमुख प्रा. लक्ष्मण पेटकुले यांनी केली. तर संपूर्ण कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन प्रा. अमोल खांदवे यांनी केले व शेवटी बी.एससी. ची विद्यार्थिनी व एन.एस.एस. स्वयंसेवक वैष्णवी मेश्राम हिने उपस्थितांचे आभार मानले.

या कार्यक्रमाला महाविद्यालयातील प्रा. डॉ. साठवणे, डॉ, गोल्डी बघमार, डॉ. वेरुळकर, डॉ. राजेंद्र बेलोकार, डॉ. भारती काटेखाये, डॉ. मस्के, डॉ. जाधव, डॉ. गडपायले, डॉ. कल्याणी, डॉ. लैंडे मॅडम, डॉ. पी. पी. देहलीवाल, डॉ. दिपटे, डॉ. राजेश दिपटे, प्रा. रेणुकादास उबाळे, प्रा. अरुण चौहाण आदि प्राध्यापक व महाविद्यालयातील विद्यार्थी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.

रस्ता सुरक्षा अभियान : 2020-21

दिनांक ११/०२/२०२१ ला महाविद्यालयात एन. एस. एस. विभाग, माजी विद्यार्थी संघटना आणि मिरा महिला बहूदेशिय संस्था यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने 'रस्ता सुरक्षा अभियान' या कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. या कार्यक्रमासाठी तुमसर पोलिस स्टेशनचे पोलीस निरीक्षक श्री. पिपरेवार साहेब, मिरा महिला बहूदेशिय संस्थेच्या अध्यक्षा मिरा भट, श्री. गजानन भटकर, श्री. अनिल मलेवार, सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्या शीतल पाटील, आचल मेश्राम, धमलेश सांगोडे आदी प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित होते. तर अध्यक्षीय स्थानी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. चेतनकुमार मसराम हे उपस्थित होते.

कार्यक्रमाच्या यशस्वीतेसाठी राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनेचे कार्यक्रम अधिकारी प्रा. लक्ष्मण पेटकुले, माजी विद्यार्थी संघटनेचे सदस्य डॉ. राजेंद्र बेलोकार व एन. एस. एस. च्या स्वयंसेवकांनी परिश्रम घेतले. यावेळी डॉ. आगाशे, प्रा. अरुण चौहान, प्रा. जांभुळे, प्रा. कमलेश राऊत, डॉ. गोल्डी बघमार, डॉ. संतोष चौधरी आदि प्राध्यापक, कर्मचारी व विद्यार्थी मोठ्या प्रमाणात उपस्थित होते.



संविधान दिन अहवाल : 2020-21

मा. संचालक, विद्यार्थी विकास विभाग, राष्ट्रसंत तुकडोजी महाराज नागपूर विद्यापीठ यांच्या आदेशानुसार 26.11.2020 रोजी संविधान दिन महाविद्यालयात साजरा करण्यात आला. या संदर्भातील कार्यक्रम व कृतीबाबत अहवाल आपल्या कार्यालयास सादर करण्यात येत आहे.

महाविद्यालयातील एनएसएस व राज्यशास्त्र विभागाच्या वतीने 26.11.2020 रोजी वेळ सकाळी 11:30 वाजता संविधान दिनाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. या कार्यक्रमाच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. सी. बी. मसराम उपस्थित होते. या कार्यक्रमाचे प्रास्ताविक राज्यशास्त्र विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. राजेंद्र बेलोकार यांनी केले. याप्रसंगी डॉ. सी. बी. मसराम सर यांनी भारतीय संविधानाच्या उद्देशिका चे ऐतिहासिक महत्त्व पटवून सांगितले. यानंतर भारतीय संविधानाच्या उद्देशिकाचे सामूहिक वाचन करण्यात आले. तर उपस्थितांचे आभार एनएसएस चे कार्यक्रम अधिकारी प्रा. लक्ष्मण पेटकुले यांनी मानले.

या कार्यक्रमाला महाविद्यालयातील प्राध्यापक, प्राध्यापिका व शिक्षकेतर कर्मचारी मोठ्या संख्येने उपस्थित होते.

A study tour Department of Geography B.A.III students was organized at the village ‘KHAPA’ (Adivasi village of Gond community)on dated 23-02-2019.First of all the formal permission of sarpanch was taken. For survey by interving method the questionnaire was filled and information was collected.

In this survey in all 17 students of Department of Geography participated.



SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEY REPORT : 2017-18

A study tour Department of Geography B.A.III students was organized at the village ‘Chandpur’ near Tumsar on dated 19-01-2018.First of all the formal permission of sarpanch was taken. For survey by interving method the questionnaire was filled and information was collected.

In the survey in all 17 students of Department of Geography participated. The road construction was done under the grants received for backward regions. Grampanchayat gave employment the registered labours. The new methods and devices are used to increase the agricultural yield. The village is free from open defecation. Therefore people enjoy very good health. It is hoped that the village will definitely developed more in future.

In the survey in all 10 students of Department of Geography participated.

Conclusion :

The village Hasara is at 1km distance from S. N. Mor College in the west. By applying sampling method 110 families out of 482 families were served. It is found that the people from the village are socio-economically backward. In the village powar community is more. The agricultural labours are more. The rate of literacy is less. Till today for cooking conventional apparatus (fireplace) are used. On 29-01-2017 the village was declared free from defecation menace. The village has co-operative society, saving groups.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC SURVEY REPORT : 2012-13

Geography department excursion tour of B.A.III Year students was organized at “HASARA” near Tumsar on 19-12-2012.Students survey the people & filled in questionnaire from them and by interving them. Students studied socio-economic influencing factors.

In the survey in all 11 students participated from geography. Powar community people are dominant at ‘Hasara’ village. The labourer people are more. The percentage of literacy is found to be less.
